Won

Tuesday. I did get to sleep early last night to then awaken rather suddenly this morning with the alarm. Must have been tired. Again, not sure why, I've been getting what I've been guessing were decent night's rest these last several weeks. Mostly.

Anyway, up to drive to breakfast. The small toes on the right foot have been aching during the day now for at least a couple of weeks after walking to breakfast. I hit the bare foot in the bedroom some time back, a large dark subcutaneous color appearing on the foot that remained for a number of days. I can move the toes without pain, I don't think anything was broken, but a small bone cracked? I'll mention it to the doctor during the annual appointment coming up in another month.

Anyway, this excuse in hand, drove to breakfast to arrive just after the waitresses had arrived and so settled in at my table with the papers, having the chicken-apple sausage, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast. Another no idea what appealed, but a pound under the target on the scale this morning and so that's what came out of my mouth when asked.

Finished up by eight-thirty and so walked to the car to find it hemmed in by someone who'd parked their car too close to mine in an illegal slot and so had an interesting adventure backing out slowly, very slowly, as I couldn't see the oncoming traffic that was blocked by a truck parked on the oncoming traffic side. Successful, thankfully, and so home to take the selfie (who is that battered old man?) and settle in for the day.

Later. Quite a bit of coverage of the fires through the noon hour, but no real additional information other than they're still burning with winds on the way later. I lived in both Mill Valley and Sausalito when I first came to the Bay Area and can relate to those who are living in heavily wooded areas, now that they've been exposed to the danger of fire in this hotter climate. Can't be anything other than unsettling.

A high of seventy today, not bad, haven't gone out and so the right foot is behaving. Still, the walking is important, we'll walk to breakfast tomorrow.

Evening. For someone that's not followed the game, this series has sucked me right in. Why I'm rooting for the Astros over the Nationals, I'm not sure. The Astros won in 2017 and the Nationals have never won a league pennant, let alone a series, the fact they're out of D.C. shouldn't really matter, their fans, after all, booed Trump. Now if they were the Austin Astros there'd be no question. Ah, well, babble, babble.

Yet you turned the television off and went to bed during the eighth inning.

The body doesn't pay any attention to the brain when it wants to do something and tonight it wanted to go to bed. I did check the outcome on the radio later to learn the Nationals had held their lead and won.
