Tell

Saturday A decent night's sleep to awaken at five-thirty and listen to the radio until it was time to set out walking to breakfast on an overcast and colder morning, dressed for the temperature, to arrive just as they were setting tables out on the patio and so settled in after a few minutes at my table and started on the papers.

The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, finishing up just after nine to find the dining room was pretty much full of diners this time, so people are not staying away. Set out for home, the sky still quite overcast, the morning still colder than it's been and so on to take the usual series of pictures plus a couple of street scenes.

The head reasonably clear as I was walking, the walk home again seemingly going more quickly than the walk in, the photographs distracting me from thinking about when am I going to arrive. The selfie in the lobby and up to settle in at the computer, the apartment quite cool for a change. We'll be bitching about the cold before long.

Later. The air quality has gone from Moderate to Good through the afternoon and the sky has cleared, so something's going right. Took a series of pictures of old underground comix covers for a videographer doing a piece on underground comix. They need to be redone so we'll take care of that tomorrow. Otherwise nothing much else going on this afternoon.

Evening. I'm not in a power shut-off area, but they're saying we're going into a high fire danger period from tomorrow night through Tuesday morning and so we'll cross our fingers. An advantage in living in a neighborhood without trees or vegetation close by, although I may be kidding myself in believing that. We'll see.

Took a look at Dr. Strangelove Or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb at eight, a movie I'd seen when it was released in 1964 and much enjoyed it then, but decided the once was enough and went to bed.

Nothing on radio on Saturday nights and so lights out by ten. These nights have been up and down, not totally out of whack up and down, but they keep me curious as to how the sleep will go, whether I'll be looking up at the clock a half a dozen times during the night (why am I not asleep?) or I'll sleep straight through. Tomorrow will tell.

The photo up top was taken at the San Francisco 2018 Anime & Cosplay Festival with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
