Retiring

Saturday. Wide awake until after midnight when I finally dropped off to sleep to awaken then at five forty-five, again feeling like lead. OK, up to take the blood pressure just after six to find it well within bounds and so listened to the news until it was time to head to breakfast. They were saying rain much later this morning, but I looked at the grey clouds to the north and rationalized driving instead of walking. My bad, I suspect, but down the stairs to the car and on to the restaurant, arriving to enter the indoor dining area, turn on the lights and settle in at my table.

The plain waffle with sliced bananas and strawberries, fruit cup and coffee this time, finishing up around nine (all three papers had shown up this morning) to drive straight home, take the selfie in the lobby, take the blood pressure again to find it essentially hadn't changed since getting up and then settle down at the computer to finish yesterday's entry, post, process the morning's pictures and start here feeling relatively clear headed after last night.

Later. A brief nap lasting maybe half an hour to get up and walk over to the Grand Lake theater to see how many people might be showing up for the Free Julian Assange demonstration due to start at noon to find maybe sixty or seventy people had assembled as so took pictures for some twenty minutes. The first time I've been out with one of the big Nikons in too long to remember. Back to the apartment to process the pictures and post some to Facebook.

Nothing on television I wanted to watch and so listened to music on YouTube, Jussi Björling and Eric Clapton from back in the days, before finally bailing to start something new on the tablet. The sunny early afternoon is now winding down and it looks like the rain they've been forecasting is indeed coming later tonight.

Evening. Watched some CSI - Las Vegas for the first time at eight, lasted for half an hour before retiring.

The photo up top was taken at the 2015 Oakland Pride Festival with a Nikon D4s mounted with a 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
