Sleep

Saturday. Awoke at five minutes to six. Good. Took the blood pressure - 128/68 - also good, up to set out walking to breakfast under clear skies and cooler than usual weather, both the eyes and nose behaving for some reason. I've always thought it was the going from cold to warm or warm to cold that triggered the watering eyes and runny nose, but who knows? Maybe I'm getting smarter about being dumber than I've always realized as I get older. A picture of the lack of parked cars on a Saturday morning. People park overnight during the week, why not on weekends?

The two strips of bacon, eggs over medium, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for no particular reason, the weight still under the 150 target on the scale this morning, finishing up by twenty minutes to nine to walk home under a bright sun. Still more than comfortable weather, the long sleeved shirt and light jacket feeling just fine.

A picture of what I've always assumed is some kind of seed pod on the tree at Santa Clara across from the theater, the two lines of scooters parked by the lake, one Lime, one Lyft and then on to take an out of focus selfie in the apartment house lobby. I like the size of this small V3 camera, but it's cumbersome to use and accurate focus doesn't seem to be its first priority.

Pity the photographer who blames his camera for his own errors.

True, but the larger DSLR's are tack sharp no matter how unbalanced your own slothful behavior. A plus in my case. Believe me.

The Folsom Street Fair tomorrow. I'm suspecting/assuming I won't make it. The photos are always over the top exotic, but I suspect I'm no longer in a condition or state of mind to stick my nose that far out the door anymore.

And all the newspaper articles about it have stressed asking for permission before taking naked people's pictures.

Haven't had any trouble with not asking in the past, but I have been turning the advice in those articles over.

Later. A walk to the lake just to get out the door and see if anything might be going on that might result in photographs. People about, but nothing that caused me to take a second picture and so back to the apartment to watch (on and off) a Washington Huskies (go team!)-USC game on television. The Huskies prevailed.

Evening. Stayed up long enough to check out the eight o'clock movie on PBS, Stand By Me (1986), the story line about four boys on a hike who discover a body. Decided I didn't need to watch four boys find a body and so went to bed. Nothing on the radio on Saturday nights and so lights out after nine, checking the blood pressure - 130/76 - before slipping off to sleep.

The photo up top was taken at the 2017 Folsom Street Fair with a Nikon D5 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
