On Low

Sunday Warm awakening briefly at four and then again just before six having slept fairly comfortably with the fan running at the foot of the bed. Only very light aching in the chest these last couple of nights, so good with that. Still not sure what exactly brings it on in the way I sleep, what body positions cause the problem and how it might be fixed.

Up at the usual time to drive to breakfast under clear skies, the sun bright when I arrived wearing a t-shirt and light jacket, still a little too warm while sitting at my outside table, even with the restaurant umbrellas blocking the sun.

The Eggs Benedict, country potatoes, fruit cup and coffee this time, quite warm and taking off the light jacket to read in just the t-shirt to still end up leaving a little early and not really finishing the papers, finishing in the sense of leaving stories I would have read if I'd been more comfortable.

OK, finished up, set out for the car taking the usual few pictures when driving, to go straight home, take the selfie and go through the usual routine of finishing and then posting yesterday's entry while sitting in front of a fan. Let's hope there are no power shut downs later. Life here would not be good without a fan.

You really are moaning and groaning. A bit unseemly, don't you think?

I left out the emergency run I had to make to the bathroom in the middle of breakfast and the unusual out of sorts feeling I was experiencing. Heat? Less sleep? Feeling just a little more off when I got up this morning? Maybe best to take a nap, allow the head get back together.

Later. Eighty-six degrees at eleven this morning, the air in the Unhealthy For Some category and, although it looked as if it's not going to get all that far into the nineties later in my neighborhood that the weather people have been forecasting, it's now ninety-five out there at two in the afternoon. Don't know what the temperature is here inside, but it would be far from fun without a fan.

A high of ninety-eight degrees now, the air index up to both Unhealthy For Some and Unhealthy For All in my area of Oakland. The television news people said Oakland hit a high of one hundred and two, breaking the all time record for this day by seven degrees. Haven't stuck my nose out or, for that matter, opened the drapes to smell/see what's been going on. They're saying more of this tomorrow.

Evening. Nothing on television and so to bed early, little to nothing on the radio as well so hunkered down with the tablet, finally stripping down to just the jockey shorts under a single sheet with the fan on low.

The photo up top was taken at the 2013 Carnaval Parade with a Nikon D4 mounted with a 70-200mm f 2.8 VR II Nikkor lens.
