Listen
Friday. To sleep not long after ten to awaken once at four (to take a leak) and then for good at just before six in time to listen to Democracy Now! before getting up and driving to breakfast. No good reason for driving rather than walking, but we were in the mood to drive. Settled in at my indoor table and started on the papers, the morning overcast and cool having left the bedroom windows open last night with the fan at the foot of the bed drawing in the outside air. The weather people are saying well into the seventies through the three day weekend, but hitting a high of just seventy today.
The ground beef patty, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, toast, fruit cup and coffee for breakfast, a couple of pounds under the one fifty-five target on the scale this morning, finishing up just after nine to head back to the car to find a Lay's delivery truck parked blocking a shot of the car. OK, took a picture of the truck and then angled around to take a picture of the car for no reason whatsoever other than I've taken a picture of the car when driving now for almost forever. Something about repeating senseless actions over and over as being a form of madness. Car pictures, flower pictures over and over I sure qualify. No excuses and no particular upsets as I continue to do them.
Home to take the selfie in the lobby before settling in at the computer to finish yesterday's entry, post, process the morning's few pictures and start here. A dentist's appointment coming up at two in Berkeley, that and folding the socks from yesterday's laundry the tasks of the day.
Later. Lied down for a bit, but then drove to the dentist's appointment in Berkeley, the traffic worse than I'd hoped, but still arriving on time to have the teeth cleaned and the x-rays taken, finishing up after an hour. Made an appointment to have them deal with the chipped tooth for the 20th and then drove home taking San Pablo Avenue instead of the freeway thinking to avoid the heavy traffic. Took half an hour, getting home feeling both tired and a little dizzy to lie down briefly to let the head clear. Nice to have that out of the way with nothing requiring driving coming up over the weekend.
Evening. Watched an Inspector Morse episode I haven't seen before. An odd and not very believable story line, but interesting in hearing Morse express his attitude toward drugs everyone used in the sixties (never tried them, they're all addicting, frightened if he did try, say cannabis, it might cause him to lose control).
Ah, well. To bed right after, lights out after the six minute news at ten. Another day of feeling tired. I'm thinking the world is trying to tell me something and perhaps I'd better listen.
